Formed by a trio of industry veterans with more than 50 years combined experience, ACTUAL games was established with the purpose of combining our proven skills in mobile games development with the themes and subject matters that most inspire us.
We make games specifically designed for the platform they're played on and we do it in a way that is unique and unexpected.
Technical Art Director
Stuart has been working in games for 12 years across multiple platforms, most recently at Natural Motion LTD as a Lead Artist on a number of high end mobile titles.
Specialising in 3D Art Pipeline development and management, Stuart has a keen interest in Zbrush, Substance Painter/ Designer, Maya, Unity and the creation of of 3D Characters and Creatures.
Stuart can often be seen (and heard) riding his Harley around the wilds of Scotland (see 'actual photo' above).
Creative Art Director
Raised on a steady diet of cartoons and video games through the 80’s and 90’s, Rob was determined to grow up to be either an intergalactic space cop or a transforming robot. Unfortunately he was born in the real world making both those career paths problematic.
He instead turned his hand to video games and has spent the last 15 years helping make games look pretty.
David is an industry veteran with 30 years of experience.
He started making Chess Games at a small company near Oxford in the 90s and during the course of his career has done pretty much everything from running companies to building 3d engines and server backends.
He's run two companies before Actual Games, the first focused on motion tracked games on console and grew to about 100 staff.
The second was a tech startup that focused on ML hand-pose classification for the fledgling VR market.
